Windell Russell "Buddy" Timms, Jr., 64, of Box Springs, Ga., formally of Lumpkin, Ga., passed away at his home on Sunday, January 9, 2011.  Graveside Services were held January 11, 2011, 11 AM, at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, with Robert Orr and Grant Abernathy officiating.  The family received friends following the service at the Dunaway/Timms family home.  Visitation was held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home, Richland.

Buddy was born November 10, 1946, in Cuthbert, GA.  He was the son of Wendell R. Timms, Sr., and Mary Hazel Dunaway.  Buddy was a native of Stewart County, GA, and had resided in Box Springs since 1996.  He was a graduate of Stewart County High School, Lumpkin.  Buddy greatest past times were being with his grandchildren and dirt track racing.  He was an avid deer and dove hunter.

Mr. Timms worked as a chief mechanic at the following car dealerships during his career:  Maddox Chevrolet, Baldwin Ford, and Dawson Motor Company.  He was a truck driver for Leon Jones Trucking, Cuthbert; and Tyson Chicken Trucking Company, Arkansas based.

Mr. Timms is survived by his wife, Sara Harvey Timms of Box Springs; two daughters, Angela McCarter, her husband William; and Wendy Exferd, her husband, Jeffery; seven grandchildren, Alison, Miranda, Caitlin, Andrea and Dylan McCarter; and Joshua and Logan Exferd; Mr. Timms' brothers:  Walter William, wife Pam and Raymond Lewis, wife Melissa, Timms; sister Sue Quattlebaum; nephews/nieces:  William Eady, Fay Correa, Lennie Wilson, Alicia Cannington, Kerry Smith, Kevin Smith, Beth Smith, Billie Timms, Missy Timms; aunts:  Millie Riles and Chris Dunaway.
