Thomas Cornelius, 72, passed away at the Four County Health and Rehab Center in Richland, Georgia on April 3, 2020.  He was born on May 22, 1947 in Hattisburg, Mississippi, to the late Eugene F. Cornelius and Elise Salter Cornelius.

He is survived by: his brother, Frank Cornelius of St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

Tom spend a significant portion of his life in Macon. and has many loving friends there. In 1965, Tom graduated from Lanier High School in Macon. While at Lanier, Tom was a star athlete in basketball and track. In 1965, he made first team all state in basketball.  He also graduated from The University of Ga.  For many years, Tom also very much enjoyed coaching little baseball in Macon.  Mr. Cornelius was retired from his business in Columbus, Georgia, Columbus Pre-Sort.  He had lived in Columbus, Georgia, for many years.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Cornelius will be held at a later date.  His ashes will be spread at a location that he had great meaning to him.
