Thelma Eugena Byers
God in his infinite wisdom and love called his servant to rest on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Lillian Carter Nursing Home in Plains, Georgia. She was born on July 15, 1921 in Brazos County, Bryan Texas, to the late Archibald Smith and Lilly McFarland Smith.
Thelma was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husbands, Alvin Simmons and Lewis Byers; two sisters, Dovie Jackson and Ray Dell Carson; and a nephew, Archie.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Simmons of Lumpkin, Georgia, her sister Margaret Johnson, and her nieces and nephews, Beverly, Sherrie, Barbara, Robert, Gene, Tommy and Dennis.
Thelma was retired from the McDonald's Corporation.
A Visitation Service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Baldwin Funeral Home, in Richland, Georgia.
The Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015, at 1:00 PM, Christian Memorial Gardens West Cemetery, in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Baldwin Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. The Potere-Modetz Funeral Home in Rochester Hills Michigan will assist with the burial.
