Sybil Elizabeth Powell Clemens, 98, passed away at Four County Health and Rehab in Richland, Georgia.  She was born on December 25, 1922, in Cuthbert, Georgia to the late Charlie Floyd Powell and Nola Kate Barbaree Powell.

Sybil is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Francis Bailey Clemens and her daughter Kathy Clemens.

Survivors include her son, James Frank Clemens of Americus, Georgia; one grandson, Josh Clemens; and two great grandchildren, Noah Clemens and Josey Clemens; and the members of the Richland Methodist Church.

Sybil was a devoted member of the Richland United Methodist Church.  She had served as the Children's Nursey School teacher; the Women's Board as President as well as many other offices and committees; and the Women's Circle Chairman for many years.

The Richland Garden Club had a very faithful and knowledgeable member in Sybil.  She enjoyed their meetings and their travels to floral events.

If you ever need to know anything about the history of Richland, Sybil and Mary Gunnels were the two "go to" people in the area.  Sybil worked on the committee to restore Harmony Church.  She also assisted the DAR on the cemetery grave listings.

Sybil was a treasure of knowledge on many subjects, a true friend to all and had love for everyone.  She loved visiting with her friends.  Sybil was a mainstay at the nursing home and will be greatly missed.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at Harmony Cemetery in Richland, Georgia.  The Reverent Paul Coats will officiate the service.  The family will visit with friends after the service.
