Stella Fay Burlison Cook, 85, was born in Jack, AL, daughter of Riley Retus Burlison and Clida Free on February 13, 1928.  She and her parents moved to Columbus, GA at an early age.  She moved to Bibb City, GA and attended school there.  She graduated from Baker High School.  Stella was married to C. J. Wilkerson in 1946 and they had two daughters, Linda Kay Saxon and Sherry Lynn Wilkerson.  She moved to Richland, GA in 1958 and she was employed as the bookkeeper for H. L. Moore Company, Chambliss Ford Tractor Company and Eakes Ford Tractor Company.

Stella married Hamer L. Cook, Sr., October 23, 1970.  She joined the Enterprise Baptist Church in 1970 and was an active member of the WMU and the Richland Garden Club.

Other than her parents Stella is preceded in death by a brother, J. Rudolph Burlison and a sister, Julia Mae Burlison.  She is survived by her husband, Hamer L. Cook, Sr., her two daughters, Linda Kay Saxon and Sherry Lynn Wilkerson, both of Phenix City, AL., a step-son, Hamer L. Cook, Jr., Spring Hill, FL; three grandchildren, Michael Welch, Michelle Klima and Amber (Eric) Ring; four step-grandchildren, Michael (Shannon) Cook, Jeff Cook, Charity Joy Cook, Cameron Cook; and four  great grandchildren.

Stella loved her family and friends and enjoyed helping the less fortunate.  She was known for her pecan and peanut brittle and enjoyed giving it to others.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday evening, July 7, 2013, from 5:00 – 6:00 PM at Baldwin Funeral Home in Richland, GA.  A Chapel Service at Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 11:00 AM, with a private burial in Enterprise Baptist Church Cemetery.
