Sara Margaret Timms' Obituary
Sara Margaret Harvey Timms, 73, passed away on January 8, 2022 at Bayler, Scott and White Hospital in Temple,
Texas
with her family around her. She was born on March 24, 1948 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late John Harvey and Lorraine Priest Harvey.
Sara is survived by her daughters, Angela (William) McCarter of Box Springs, Georgia and Wendy (Jeff) Exferd of Belton, Texas; seven grandchildren, Alison (Joey) Cantrell , Miranda, Caitlin, Andrea and Dylan McCarter and Joshua and Logan Exferd; one great granddaughter, Zoey Cantrell.
To Sara, her greatest time was being with her grandchildren, being a part of their lives and watching them grow up. She was an expert with crochet work and gave many blankets and scarves as gifts. She made many very soft baby blankets for newborn babies. Sara was a member of the Lumpkin United Methodist Church in Lumpkin, Georgia.
Sara and Buddy lived most of their lives in Lumpkin, Georgia. Sara was retired from Michelle's Restaurant where she worked for many years. When she and Buddy retired they moved to Box Springs, Georgia to live close to Angela's family. The last several years Sara was living with Wendy and her family in Belton, Texas. For as long as she was able, Sara would take long trips and go and visit her sister Eugenia in Florida. They would attend Eugenia's church where Sara was a very welcomed member. Sara made lasting friends in Florida who she still corresponded with by phone and text. Sara will always be remembered for her friendships, keeping up with the "goings on" in Stewart County and her kindness to friends and strangers. Sara will not only be greatly missed by her family but also by the numerous friends that she had over many states.
The family will receive friends on Saturday morning, January 15th, from 10:00 - 10:45 am, at Baldwin Funeral Home in Richland, Georgia. A Chapel Service will be held immediately following at 11:00 AM , with burial at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers serving: Dylan McCarter, Allen Baldwin, William Eady, Mike Pope, Will Pope, Patrick McEachin
The family wishes to thank their friends and family for their love and support during this difficult time.
In Lieu of Flowers, donation may be made toward the funeral costs.
If anyone wishing to bring food for the family please bring it to the funeral home as we will feed the family after the services.
