Ruth Harry Wooley, 87, died on September 20, 2015, at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia. She was born on April 14, 1928, in Webster County, Georgia, to the late Walter Harry and Myrtle Cooper Harry.
Ruth is preceded in death by both of her parents; and her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Wooley.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ginger (Douglas) Taylor of Richland, Georgia and Debra Wooley Webb of Plains, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Doug (Karen) Taylor, Greg (Vanessa) Taylor, Chris (Melanie) Castleberry, Nick (Laurie) Castleberry, Bill (Kayla Baldwin) Webb, Bob (Noel) Webb, Travis Webb; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary Taylor, Brian Castleberry, Emma Castleberry, Mackenzie Castleberry, Dakota Castleberry, Erin Castleberry, Cole Castleberry, Delanie Webb; two sisters, Laverne Welch, Dot (Talmadge) Welch; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ruth Wooley was a true servant of her Lord. She served Him in many ways, one being an active member of the Richland First Baptist Church. She held numerous positions in the church and served on many committees. Ruth was always a part of the children's program, the GA's and Vacation Bible School.
Ruth dearly loved her husband Bob. When you talk or think of Ruth you naturally think of Mr. Bob. They were always together, usually smiling and laughing about something. Throughout their life, they worked hard at everything they did and thoroughly enjoyed life. A source of love and pride to both Ruth and Bob were their daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth was active in many events with Mr. Bob: the Richland Lions Club, the Gideon's, the Masons and the American Legion Post 128.
A Visitation Service was held on Monday, September 21, 2015, from 5:00 – 6:30 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home, Richland, Georgia.
A Graveside Service was held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 2:0 PM, at Harmony Cemetery in Richland, Georgia, with the Reverend Robert Orr officiating. Ruth's grandson Travis Webb sang, "Amazing Grace" and "Go Rest High on the Mountain".
Pallbearers serving were her grandsons and great grandson, Zack Taylor.
