Ruth Dey Hall, 83, passed away at her home in Omaha, Georgia, on April 24, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1942 at Ft. Benning, Georgia, Columbus, to the late Julian Forrest Dey and the late Marie Norton Dey. Ruth is preceded in death by both of her parents, her daughter, Wendy Eliza Hall Jones, her brother, Buddy Dey, and two sisters, Lois Elis and Sara DeGraff.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, of 63 years, Don Hall; her son, Jonathan Wayne Hall, her sister, Judy Hoyer, two grandchildren, Jesse Hall Watkins, Joshua Jones and five great grandchildren, Evynn, Emmersyn, Madilyn, Matthew, Holden.

Ruth was a Christian. She was a devoted member of Cottonton Baptist Church. Ruth was over the Cottonton Baptist Church Prayer Ministry. She loved to help people and it showed in her work. Ruth had a heart of gold and would go out of her way to help someone in need. Her true love was taking care of her grandkids and spending time with family and friends. She was selfless and always put others above herself.

Watching Madilyn playing softball was the highlight of her week! Ruth was very proud of her grandchildren’s deer hunting skills. She loved riding on the golf cart with the kids. The flowers in her yard, the blue hydrangeas, iris and elephant ear plants always gave her a smile. Don "PawPaw" and Ruth "Nanny" loved riding down Ferry Road, seeing the moss covered trees, turkeys, rabbits and getting cuttings from wild Cherokee Rose bushes.

Don and Ruth were election managers in Omaha for several years and were dedicated to making sure their paperwork was in order.

The Visitation Service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 11:00 – 11:45 am (Georgia time, EST), at the Cottonton Baptist Church in Cottonton, Alabama. The Church Service will begin at 12:00 noon (EST). Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Union, Georgia, at 1:00 PM (EST). The Reverend Robert Rhodes will conduct the service and interment.
