Robert "Bobby" Clayton Richardson, Sr., 84, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at his home with his loving wife, Dot, and daughter, Elaine, at his side.

Bobby was born in Lumpkin, GA, on May 22, 1928.  He was preceded in death by both his parents, Clyde Merritt Richardson, Sr. and Lillian Doster; son, Robert C. Richardson, Jr.; daughter, Ellen Richardson Kavelman; brother, Clyde Richardson, Jr.; and two sisters, Susan Richardson Young and Elizabeth Ann Richardson Barnett.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Richardson, and daughter, Elaine Richardson Holloway. Bobby has four grandchildren: Chris Montfort, Robert Williams, Robin Temples and Brian Richardson; and five great grandchildren.

Bobby served as a Medic in the Air Force from 1948 - 1949.  He was a merchant and owner of a general store in Lumpkin, called C. M. Richardson and Son.  The business was purchased on January 8, 1923 by Bobby's father, Mr. Clyde Richardson.  Bobby became the owner of the business and served his customers until his retirement in December 1988.

Visitation was held Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held at the Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Grant Abernathy officiating.  Burial will be at Northside Cemetery in Lumpkin, GA.
