Raymond Wesley (Nukie) Roland, 83, Louvale (Lumpkin), passed away September 10, 2011, at the Stewart-Webster Hospital in Richland, Ga.

Mr. Roland was born in Clay County Georgia on September 27, 1928.  His parents were Sylvester and Charlotte R. Munford Roland.  He was married to Jean Cole Roland for 59 years.  Mr. Roland was a retired carpenter and worked at Ft. Benning and in the Columbus area his entire career.  He served as a deacon and was a member of Bland Memorial Baptist Church.

Mr. Roland is survived by his wife, Jean; three sons: Ronnie (Patti) Roland of Cuthbert, GA.; Mike (Terri) Roland of Phenix City, AL.; and Ricky (Tammy) Roland of Ellaville, GA.  He had six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Roland, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; and several nieces and nephews

A Graveside Service was held Monday, September 12, 2011, 11:00 AM, at Louvale Church Row with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation was Sunday, September 11, from  5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home, Richland, GA.

The Rev. Larry Langford presided over the service, with the following serving as Pallbearers:  Dave Pate, Gary Chesnut, Brett Roland, Rick Roland, Randy Mathis, Mitch Bowling.
