Obituary

Ollie Ree Cook Burnett died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. She was born on August 22, 1925 in Webster County Georgia and was the daughter of the late William Thomas Cook and Lena Bridges Cook.

Mrs. Ollie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Pell Burnett; one brother, Lynwood Cook; and three sisters, Lucille Walker, Mozzell Rainey and Frances Williamson.  She is survived by two nephews, David Clyde Turner, Thomas Walker; and five nieces, Marie Hunter, Betty Jean Brown, Gladys Brown, Kathy Sanders and Linda Warner.

Mrs. Ollie was a retired seamstress of Belk's in Thomaston.  She had also worked as a nurse's aide at the Stewart Webster Hospital in Richland, GA.

A Visitation Service was held with family and friends on Friday, June 14, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home in Richland, Georgia.  The church service was held at Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Webster County Georgia at 10 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2013, with burial in the family plot at Preston City Cemetery in Preston, GA.

Services were conducted by the: Reverend Raymond Smith and Hal Grimmett. Music was provided by Susie Ethridge, pianist and Joanne Nelson vocalist, sang Amazing Grace and Serenaded by Angels.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to: Mount Olive United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society thru Baldwin Funeral Home, P O Box 394, Richland, GA 31825.
