Mary Parker French, 80, died on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Magnolia Manor on St. Simons Island, Georgia. She was born on August 6, 1934 in Richland, Georgia to the late Russell Virgil Parker and Pauline Glover Parker.

Mary is preceded in death by both her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald "Ronnie" C. French, Sr. of St. Simons Island, Georgia (formerly of Lumpkin, Georgia); her two sons, Ronald "Chuck" C. French, Jr., his wife Kathy, of Acworth, Georgia and Russell P. French, his wife Dawn, of Leesburg, Georgia; her daughter, Ronda French Hansen, her husband William of St. Simons Island, Georgia; her sister, Flora Parker Schanen; seven grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

Mary and Ronnie lived in Lumpkin, Georgia for many years. After retirement they moved to St. Simons Island 10 years ago to live near their daughter, Ronda.

Mrs. Mary was retired from working with the United States Government as a Clerk. She had a College Associate Degree. Mrs. Mary was the wife of a veteran seaman of the United States Navy.

While living in Lumpkin, Mary was a member of the Lumpkin United Methodist Church. After their move to St. Simons Island, Mary and Ronnie transferred their membership to the St. Simons United Methodist Church.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of her church in Lumpkin, being a member of the women's group, Bible study group and the sewing circle. After moving to St. Simons she served her church on the Island in several capacities.

A Visitation Service with family and friends was held on Friday evening, July 31, 2015, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home in Richland, Georgia. The Graveside Service was held on Saturday morning, August 1, 2015, at 10:30 AM, at Northside Cemetery in Lumpkin, Georgia. The Reverend Marcia Cochran, of the St. Simons Island United Methodist Church, conducted the service.
