Marvin Lawrence Lane, 82, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his home.

Marvin was born in Stewart County GA, on May 24, 1931 to the late Mack J. Lane and Alline Cherry Lane.  He served in the U. S. Army, Korean War from 1951 to 1953.

Marvin is preceded in death by both of his parents, his first wife, Shirley Peterson Lane, his son, Tracy Lane, and four brothers; Mack Lane, Jr., Ralph Lane, Allen Lane and Lynn Lane.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Martha Faye Lane, two daughters: Wanda Lane Clancy of Acworth, GA and Linda Lane Adcock of Flowery Branch, GA; one brother, James Lane of Lumpkin, GA; four grandchildren: David (April) Adcock, Beth Adcock, Caroline Clancy, Chad Clancy; and two great grandchildren: Trace Adcock and Chad Adcock.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday evening, July 5, 2013, from 6:00 – 8:00 at Baldwin Funeral Home in Richland, GA.  A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Reverend Jack Ray officiating.
