Margie Smith Walker's Obituary
Margie Smith Walker, 84, of Tifton, Georgia, died at Tift Regional Center in Tifton, Georgia, on January 3, 2018. She was born on February 28, 1933, in Webster County, Georgia, to the late James Conyers Smith and Era Emma Alston Smith.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her husband, William Eugene Walker; five brothers; and two sisters.
Margie is survived by three sons, Larry (Debrah) Walker of Toccoa, Georgia, Steve (Rhonda) Walker of Chula, Georgia, Lee (Rachel) Walker of Tifton, Georgia; one daughter, Sherrie Walker (Anthony) Clark of Tifton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Lindsey Walker, Mitchell Walker, Amanda Baker, Joshua Walker, Angel Clark; three great-grandchildren, Korbyn Miller, Kenzie Miller, Eli Baker; two brothers, Mike Smith of Preston, Georgia, Raymond (Rebecca) Smith of Preston, Georgia; and four sisters, Julia Key of Phenix City, Alabama, Liz Guynn of Preston, Georgia, Patricia (Wayne) Burks of Weston, Georgia, Dorothy Davis of Savannah, Georgia.
Before moving to Tifton the family lived in various places in Georgia. Margie lived in the Tifton area for 56 years and was a member of the Omega Church of God. She loved children and had a child care business in her home for 35 years. She loved spending time with her family and being a part of her church. She enjoyed listening to music. Margie came from a long line of loving and caring people. She will always be remembered as a second grandmother to many friends and family. She will hold a special place in their hearts.
The Church Service will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church in Centerpoint Community, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM. The Reverend Raymond Smith will conduct the services. Her burial will be in the church cemetery.
