Obituary

Leola E Hendricks, age 88, passed away on February 4, 2025, at her home.  She was born on January 18, 1937, in Broxton, Georgia, to the late Graham Edenfield and Algie Lee Carver Edenfield.

Leola is survived by her daughters: Julie Gudall (John), Beth Kissell (Girven), Jerri Frances White (Carlton), and Susan Baker (Dan), 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

It is impossible to describe the richness and breadth of a person's life with just a few words. The love and emotion that ripples from the loss of someone dear is not only unique to every individual who loved them, but the impact is so far-reaching that language cannot capture it. With this in mind, the words that follow are just drops in the ocean of memory surrounding Leola's life.

Leola loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul, mind and strength. She was a giver, helping her family and anyone she knew in any way she could. She loved her church and church family and was faithfully active for as long as she was able. Her life ministry was caring for her family and friends, and through sending cards of encouragement and heartfelt love.

She loved Southern Gospel music, and she loved creating ceramics and enjoyed teaching the art to others. She also enjoyed playing Skip-Bo with family and friends. It was a rich blessing to her family to provide in home care for her in her time of need, when she could no longer care for herself. We look forward to the day when those of us who share a faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will join her on that Happy Golden Shore!

Bible verse: 1 Thess  4:13-18

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God: and the dead in Christ will rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
