Kathy C. Funk Woody, 56, of Richland, Georgia, passed away at Kindred Hospice, in Columbus, Georgia on April 12, 2018.  She was born on April 25, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Kenneth L. Funk and Barbara C. Richardson Funk.

Kathy is survived by her life partner, Barry C. Woody of Richland, Georgia; her three loving sons, Shaun Woody of Richland, Georgia, Bryan Woody of Richland, Georgia, Shane (Nancy) Woody of Americus, Georgia; two grandchildren, Alexi Gutierrez and Glorianna Woody; one brother, Brian Funk; one sister, Terry Baynor; one sister-in-law, Ann Funk; and many other family and friends.

The first thing a person would notice about Kathy was her big smile and how her eyes would light up!  She loved life and enjoyed being with family and friends.  Kathy was always a hard worker and was very thorough in all her work related jobs.  For many years she was very involved in her family's businesses.  Later on in her life she was able to fulfill her dream of going to nursing school and becoming a nurse.  In dealing with her nursing home patients and the staff, Kathy was always kind, loving and supportive.

Kathy battled several different types of cancer over the numerous years.  She was always upbeat and determined to keep going through her treatments.  She never gave up, her body just finally gave out and the Lord took her home.

A private family burial was held on April 13, 2018, at 4:30 pm, at Enterprise Baptist Church Cemetery, in Richland, Georgia.  Officiating the service were Steve Smith and Lewis Baldwin.
