Juanita Gibbs Ivey, 94, of Buena Vista, Ga, formally of Richland,Ga., passed away Thursday, January 12, 2011, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County, in Buena Vista, GA.

Mrs. Ivey was born October 6, 1917, in Wheeler City, GA.  She was the daughter of the late Joe L. Gibbs and the late Emma Benton.  She was the widow of Cecil R. Ivey, Sr.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, Cecil R. Ivey, Sr., a daughter, Myrna Mathis, son, Bobby Ivey, three sisters, Myrtle Von Dohlen, Elease Lindsey, Carol Heath, and one brother, Gene Gibbs.

Mrs. Ivey is survived by one daughter: Ann Parker of Birmingham, AL; two sons, Jack Ivey (Sandra) of Talbotton, GA, Joe Ivey (Shirley) of Buena Vista, GA; one brother, Andrew J. "Jack" Gibbs (Sandra) of Covington, GA; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Juanita was very active with the East Star, five times Past Matron Sims Chapter O.E.S. Richland, GA, Ft. Benning Chapter #278.  Past Matron Amaranth Court #18, Albany, GA, Midland Court #20 and White Jersualam West End #5, Stockbridge, GA.  She was a past member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ivey was retired from their family's long standing business, Ivey's Grocery Store in Richland, GA.

A Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home, Richland.   A Chapel Service will be held in the Baldwin Chapel, Sunday, January 15, 2012, at 2:00 PM, with interment at Harmony Cemetery, Rev. Robert Orr officiating.
