John Phillip
Orr
August 24, 1976 – October 28, 2024
John Phillip Orr, 48, passed away on October 28, 2024, at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. He was born on August 24, 1976 in Americus, Georgia, to Robert Orr and Sherry McMath Orr.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Angie Thrift Orr, son, Levi Thrift, both of his parents, Robert and Sherry, brother, David (Cindy) Orr, and nephews, Justin, Dylan and Joshua Orr.
Phillip enjoyed working and making unique walking canes. If you were lucky enough to purchase one of his walking canes, you have a treasure.
Phillip graduated from Greenfield Academy and then from South Georgia Technical College.
Friends lovingly described Phillip as a big goofy, gentle and kind man. He had the ability to make everyone smile and laugh which can be difficult to do! Phillip would tuck his head and give you the kindest smile when you saw him. He was very happy when he found the love of his life, Angie and their son, Levi.
He loved being with his dogs. Phillip was loved by so many people but may have not realized how many lives he touched in his daily life. We were gifted for a short time, with his love and friendship.
A Graveside Service was held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Harmony Cemetery, with the Reverend Robert Orr and C J Yarborough officiating the service.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in Phillip's memory to Macedonia Baptist Church and Lumpkin Humane Society.
