Ivey Rachel Patterson, 11 years old, is the beloved daughter of Bill and Jessica Patterson and sister to Summer Johnson. Ivey passed away as the results of injuries sustained in an accident on an ATV on Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2016.

She was born on May 25, 2005, in Americus, Georgia. Ivey is survived by her loving parents, William "Bill" Gilbert Patterson and Jessica Marie Johnson Patterson of Preston, Georgia; her sister, Summer Skyy Johnson; grandparent, Hubert Patterson; grandmother, Terry Germany; grandfather, Cecil Neal Johnson; great-grandmother, Rachel Rentfrow and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ivey led the life of a busy young lady, but always making time to embrace family and friends. She never met a person without sharing a hug. The family will forever remember her beautiful smile, her energy for life and the unique way she expressed her opinion. The best way to end a "discussion" with Ivey was with a hug. Ivey touched the lives of many people during her short span on earth.

Ivey is known for being a "diva" with a huge slice of country! She preferred wearing her boots or going barefoot. This fit her style because she loved being outdoors, playing in the mud, 4 wheeling, playing softball, singing and dancing. One of Ivey's prized possessions is her signature guitar. She was always looking for new signers! Ivey loved all animals, except for that old Rooster and that was pushing things too far.

Ivey's courage is what leads us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create memories. She created loving memories at her home church, Macedonia Baptist Church and in the Centerpoint Community.

The family is profoundly grateful for the thoughts and prayers of the many friends who have expressed their sympathies. They trust in the depths of God's grace and with the confidence know that Ivey is in God's arms. Please continue to hold her close, as her family does, in your mind and in your heart.

A Candle Light Service was held on Monday night, December 12, 2016, at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 5716 Macedonia Road, Preston, Georgia. The whole community stood with Ivey's family when balloons were released to honor the memory of this precious young lady.

A Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday night, December 16, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home. The Church Service will be held on Saturday morning, 10:00 AM, December 17, 2016, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Preston, Georgia. The Reverends' Robert Orr and Raymond Smith will conduct the church and graveside services. Donny McDugal will sing a memorable song during the service. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
