A truly amazing woman has left this earth today, someone who touched the lives of not only children's but many adults lives. Mrs. Irene DuBose, formerly of Lumpkin, Georgia, passed away this morning in Manning, South Carolina.
Many of you will remember Mrs. DuBose from the Georgia Extension Office in Lumpkin, and for those of us that go farther back, 4-H. She was the Home Economist until her retirement in .
Mrs. DuBose was a fixture in the schools back... when schools allowed children to participate in 4-H during and at the schools. As the children got older, we had many sessions after school, at her office and at our homes getting ready for DPA. She was a regular on the Rozell's Show and speaker to many group. As a child then adult, there was nothing that Mrs. DuBose could not do! Cooking, quilting, baking bread, canning, disciplining and keeping a group of children straight, she was the expert!!
