Glenwodyne Brightwell Kennedy, 95, of Preston, Georgia, passed away on December 13, 2022, at the Four County Health and Rehab in Richland, Georgia.  She was born on June 11, 1927, in Webster County Georgia to the late Sims Brightwell and Mary Patterson Brightwell.

She is survived by two sons, Steve (Chlotile) Kennedy of Preston Georgia and James Roger "Jimmy" Kennedy and Sam Fogarty of Preston, Georgia; four grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Millard Kennedy, one son, Daniel Kennedy, her sister, Mattie Belle Reid and brother, Wade Brightwell.

The Graveside Service will be held on Thursday afternoon, December 15, 2022, at 3:00 PM, at the Preston City Cemetery in Preston, Georgia.  Jason Tarrer will officiate the service.  If you would like to sign the Register Book, please drop by the funeral home on Thursday, 12/15/2022 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon.  The family will not be present.

Glenwodyne was a member of the Preston United Methodist Church in Preston, Georgia and the Women's Club.  She served as a guest hostess at the Governor's Mansion and the White House when Jimmy Carter served as our United States President.  She loved nothing more than spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas, where she could decorate her home and yard beautifully for both occasions.  Having her family at home every Christmas Eve was quite possibly the highlight of the year for all.  Her children will miss her but they are left with some of the sweetest memories, that will last until they are reunited again.
