Gerald Wynne McGlaun, 82, passed away on October 31, 2023, at his home in Webster County, Georgia. He was born on February 16, 1941 in Webster County, to the late Prather A. McGlaun and Mary Julia Waller McGlaun.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his loving wife, Abbie West McGlaun, his brother, Thomas McGlaun and sister, Helen Surles.

Gerald had been involved in the wood/logging business basically all his life. He loved being outdoors and meeting with landowners to manage their trees. For the last 20 or more years he worked for Ken Melton with Melton Logging. Before working for Melton, he worked for Noll and Skipper Van Cleve, whom he stayed in touch with until his death. Gerald loved working and purchasing tracks of timber. He truly worked until he could no longer get out.
Gerald enjoyed watching the Georgia and Alabama games with his family. The part of the game he watched closest was how the coaches instructed the players. Watching the Kentucky Derby with Abbie was a special event for them.
