Francis McGuire Moncus, 86, died on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.  She was born on May 4, 1935 in Dawson, Georgia, to the late John Collum McGuire and Sara Christin Garrett.

Frances is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, James Rudolph Moncus; one daughter, Patricia Moncus Shannon; a grandson, Patrick Shannon, a brother, John Robert McGuire; and sister, Vivian Stewart.

She is survived by her son, Rudy (Sue) Moncus of Preston, Georgia, two daughters, Evelyn McGill of Dawson, Georgia, Donna (Allen) Greene of Lumpkin, Georgia; brother, Alvin (Jeanette) McGuire of Pelham, Georgia; sister, Marilee Collins of Daytona, Florida; five grandchildren, Shanna Anderson, Krystal Anderson, Mitchell Moncus, Chase Shannon, Tiffany Greene; and nine great-grandchildren, Briana Grant, Rebecca Moore, Madison Moore, Autumn Grant, Gabriel Moore, Ember Moore, Britany Hayes, Brad Hayes, Carrie Harnage.

Frances had retired as a secretary at Empire Gas Company in Dawson, Georgia.  She loved to draw in  her adult coloring books and had mastered this art.    Being a great cook was a goal as she loved having the family to come to visit and enjoyed eating with her.  For many years she was an avid fan of As the World Turns.  After moving to the nursing facility, she started following baseball teams.  The Atlanta Braves was her favorite team.  With them playing in the World Series, she was probably praying for them to win.

A Graveside Service was held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at the Cedar Hill  Cemetery in Dawson, Georgia.  The family visited with friends after the service.  The Reverend Raymond Smith officiated the service.
