Eugene Talmadge Haynes, Jr., 63, died at St Francis Hospital, in Columbus, Georgia, on September 7, 2024.  He was born on February 10, 1961, in Lakeland, Florida to Eugene Talmadge Haynes, Sr and Joyce Ann Gavin Haynes.

Gene is survived by his children: son, Chad Haynes of Lumpkin, Georgia, daughter, Erin Miller of Florida, brother, Jeffery Haynes and two sisters, Debbie Blankenship and Jenny Johnston.

Gene was the Road Superintendent for Stewart County Government in Lumpkin, Georgia.

Gene was well respected not only for the excellent job he did with the county roads but for his kind manner.  His family and friends morn his unexpected death.

A Celebration of Gene's Life will be September 21 at the Wims Center at 11am, 7062 Green Grove Road, Lumpkin, GA. 31815.
