Etta Louise House Stenzel, 64, died on May 6, 2016, at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, Georgia. She was born on April 18, 1952, in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late Ernest G. House and Frances Perkins House.
Etta is proceeded in death by both of her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Schaetzer (Jeffery Evans) of Columbus, Georgia; four grandchildren, Tiffany Schaetzer of Columbus, Georgia, Ada Lynn Schaetzer of Lumpkin, Georgia, Damian Schaetzer of Columbus, Georgia; one great grandchild, Jacqurion Dent of Lumpkin, Georgia; one brother, Ernest G. (Rebecca) House, Jr., of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister, Frances Joy (Eugene) Salet of Augusta, Georgia; and close cousins, Liz and Gene House of Salem, Alabama.
Etta attended college and graduated with a four year degree. She worked as a medical office assistant for Dr. Canado's Office and previously at Dr. Lopez's Office both located in Columbus, Georgia.
When Etta and Kelly would come to Lumpkin you could see the love Etta had for her daughter. Kelly was a joy to Etta as a small child and a welcome help when Etta's health declined.
When Etta moved back to Lumpkin, she reunited with friends she had had as a young woman. Etta was a member of the Lumpkin United Methodist Church.
Etta was a very proud grandmother. She had many pictures of her grandchildren and loved to show the children's pictures.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 4:00 PM, at Northside Cemetery in Lumpkin, Georgia, with the Reverend Dan Smith officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held after the service at the cemetery.
