Elnathan (E.P.) Pearson Armour, Jr., 90, died February 4, 2014, at Griffin Regional Medical Hospital in Griffin, GA. He was born December 15, 1923, in Brooklyn, GA, to the late Elnathan Pearson Armour, Sr. and Byrma Chambless Armour.
E. P.... was a graduate of Richland High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 137 ordnance Co. 7th Army from 1943 to 1946. With his Church, he served as an usher and many other positions throughout his life in the Richland First Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion, the ASCS Board and the Tax Assessors Board. He was a member of the Kinchafoonee Sportsman's Club. He was a lifetime resident of Stewart County until September 2013, when he and his wife moved to Griffin, GA.
E. P. was preceded in death by both of his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Armour, one son, Scott Armour of Moreland, GA; three step-daughters, Angela (Jimmy) Castleberry of Fayetteville, GA, Sherry (Olin) Witherington of Griffin, GA, Trina (Allen) Sentell of Woodstock, GA, and one sister, Dorothy (Carlton) Williams of Arizona.
Mr. EP has seven grandchildren, Brandon (Heather) Castleberry of Glen Falls, NY, Erin (Stephens) Shell of Fayetteville, GA, Joseph Castleberry of Fayetteville, GA, Clayton Witherington of Griffin, GA, Christopher Sentell of Woodstock, GA, Jonathan Sentell of Woodstock, GA. He also has three great grandchildren, Nathan, Daniel, and Kaitlyn Shell of Fayetteville, GA.
The Family will receive visitors at Baldwin Funeral Home, 50 Charles Overby Dr., in Richland, GA, on Thursday, February 6, 2014, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Richland First Baptist Church in Richland, GA, with the Reverends' Robert Orr and Jim Eubanks officiating. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery in Richland, GA, with the Reverend Mark Williams officiating.
Mr. E. P.'s grandchildren and Bill Minick will serve as his Pallbearers.
Baldwin Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
