Drury "Dru" Anderson Shierling, 20, died on October 16, 2019, in Athens, Georgia.  Dru was the son of Marion Shierling and Rosalind Ragan-Adams, who was born on March 6, 1999, in Columbus, Georgia.

Dru is preceded in death by: his grandparents, Elbeth and Margaret Shierling; and his grandparents, James Billy and Marcia Ragan; and his uncle, Razz Shierling.

Memories from Catherine:  Dru was one of the most kind-hearted people to walk this Earth. I remember the day he was born we were all waiting around to meet this angel, my uncles first child. He turned out to be just that. After beating cancer and defying the odds there he went on to graduate high school and grew into a man who had a passion for the environment, being healthy, and staying active.

He always went above and beyond to make sure his family knew that he loved us. When I have gone through life's hard times, Dru went out of his way to check on me and text me to let me know that he loved me. He checked on my mom when my dad was sick and went above and beyond for my sister when she needed him as well.

Dru was a kind-hearted child as well he loved animals and playing outside. I remember fondly helping Grannie take care of him as a baby and when he got sick our whole hearts went into praying for him to get better.

He loved the Power Rangers as a child and I remember for a while he would only wear the color red to represent the red ranger. He loved The Shack and being in the countryside experiencing nature. I remember his love for the world and wanting to make this earth a better place. He had turned into such an amazing man and I was so excited to see where his life would take him. He was special to everyone who knew him and I am blessed to have been his cousin.

I can't imagine celebrating holidays or any family get togethers now that Dru is gone. He was a kind soul and a fighter through and through. He would have done anything for his friends and family. He was a good kid with a bright future that was taken away way too soon.
