Diane C. Babb, 74, of Lumpkin, Georgia passed away May 22, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center, on Columbus, Georgia, with her family at her side.

Diane Chesnut Babb was born December 13, 1944, to the late W. P. Chesnut and Mabel Bryan Chesnut of Omaha, Georgia.

She was a graduate of Stewart County High School. Diane was married to her loving husband, Thomas "Tommy" S. Babb, for 52 years.

Diane retired with over 30 years of service as the clerk for the Stewart County Commission.  In her past-time she enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and trips to Biloxi, Mississippi.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, her daughter Angel Babb Miller, and her brother Jacky Chesnut.

Diane is survived by her husband, Thomas S. Babb, daughter Letecia Brown (Ernie), and son-in-law Craig C. Miller; granddaughters: Shelby Miller Wills (Stanton), Sydney Brown O'Hearn (Taylor), Brantley Miller Beaver (Todd), and Madison Brown (Felton Byars); great-grandsons, Coogan Miller Wills, Brock Mitchell O'Hearn and a great-granddaughter expected in July. She is also survived by her sister June Lynn; sister-in-law Mina B. Chesnut; brother-in-law Jimmy Babb (Merri Lynn); and a special nephew Kelly Bennett (Jennifer).

The family would like to thank Lynne Kirk for her love and support during this time.

Services will be graveside, May 24, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at Harmony Cemetery in Richland, Georgia. The service will be conducted by Mike McGlaun.  The family will visit with friends immediately after the service at the cemetery.
