Deborah K. Watkins, 64, of Phenix City, Alabama (formally of Richland), passed away on September 3, 2021, at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. She was born on July 28, 1957 in Newberg, Germany to the Taylor Wilson and Pansy Venner Wilson.
Deborah is preceded in death by both of her parents, her son, Roy Cobb, Jr., her brother, Earl Wilson and one sister, Joe Ann Wilson.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce O. Watkins of Phenix City, Alabama; one son, Robert (Samantha) Cobb of Richland, Georgia; one daughter, Tina (Tim) Hester of Phenix City, Alabama; four sisters, Brenda Money, Dorothy Peck, Robin Forsyth and Joan Robinson; daughter-in-law, Sandra Cobb; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Deborah was born in Germany, later her family moved to Elizabethton, Tennessee, then to Columbus, Georgia and on to Richland Georgia. She attended elementary school in Tennessee. Deborah married Pete Cobb in 1972 and they opened their appliance and furniture store in Richland, Georgia. They raised two sons, Roy and Robert and daughter, Tina. Later Deborah met Bruce Watkins and they were married for 13 years.
Deborah enjoyed her flowers. Her real passion was cooking. She was an excellent cook and even turned this into a business. She made and sold pre-made food to many customers and operated her business for many years. She also enjoyed watching television shows, NCIS and many criminal investigation shows.
A Visitation Service will be held on Friday evening, September 10, 2021, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home in Richland, Georgia.
The Graveside Service will be held on Saturday morning, September 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Harmony Cemetery in Richland, Georgia. The Reverend Raymond Smith will officiate the service, with Sandra Cobb remembering Deborah.
In lieu of flowers: donations may be given in Deborah Watkins memory to a charity of your choice.
