Charley George Harry. 66, passed away at Piedmont Midtown in Columbus, Georgia on December 24, 2020. He was born on February 22, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late James Floyd Harry, Sr. and Ethel Adams Harry.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, one brother, James Floyd Harry, Jr. and two sisters, Evie Brazelton and Marie Thomas.
Charley is survived by his wife, Debbie House Harry of Preston, Georgia; his son, Charley (Megan) Adam Harry and grandchildren, Alyssa and Bella Harry of Ellaville, Georgia; his daughter, Ashley (Andrew) Harry Reeves and grandchildren, Lexi and Laci, of Fort Benning, Georgia; one sister, Judy (Clyde) Johns of Graves, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Mary Nell Harry of Preston, Georgia; and brother-in-law, A. J. Thomas in Cairo, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charley worked as a heavy equipment operator for years. Having once been employed by Webster County Road Department, he knew every road and trail in Webster County. He loved the outdoors, his family and friends. He loved taking his children, nieces, nephews and community kids coon hunting. Charley loved music and played the piano and guitar. He loved the Centerpoint and Preston community. He always kept you smiling and never met a stranger. He found joy in helping others.
Charley was a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Parrott, Georgia.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 3:00 PM, at Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Centerpoint, Georgia. The family will visit with friends after the service. Pastors officiating are, Brother Robert Orr and Brother Raymond Smith. Pallbearers: Adam Harry, Andrew Reeves, Hank Harry, Ty Harry, Terry Atkinson, Ricky Marshall. Honorary Pallbearers: Jack Eberhart, Ronnie Smith
In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be given in Charley's memory to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund or Mount Olive United Methodist Church.
