Obituary

Charles Clyde Porter, Jr. passed away unexpectly on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Emory Hosptial in Atlanta, GA.  A funeral service was held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus, GA, on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 1 PM.  The family received friends from 11:00 AM - 1 PM on Saturday at the Funeral Home.

Chuck was born on September 5, 1961 in Macon, GA to his proud parents, Charles Clyde Porter, Sr., and Ruby Mae Hamlin Porter.

Chuck graduated from Edgewood Christian School in Columbus, GA and loved his job as a technician with Valley Hosty.  Chuck enjoyed NSCAR, golfing, working in his garden and especially spending time with his best friend Rex Pearce.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 10 years Linda Sue McGraw Porter of Lumpkin, GA; his parents; two stepsons that he loved as his own, Stacey Arnold (Brenda) of Cookville, TN; Billy Arnold (Jamella) of Smyrna, GA; two sisters, Lynn Atkinson (Jeff) of Fortson, GA; Trish Tomlinson (Nelson) of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Don Porter of Columbus, GA; Dave Porter (Brandy) of Tuson, AZ; three grandchildren, Sam, Austin and Autumn Arnold, also numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Chuck was a wonderful and loving son, father, husband, and friend.  He was selfless, giving, and kindhearted person who was always ready to help anyone in need.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a Memorial Fund set up at CB&T Bank in Chuck's name.

Burial was held at County Line Cemetery, Stewart County, GA.  Services were conducted by Baldwin Funeral Home, Richland, GA.
