Catherine Powell Phelts, 95, of Plains, GA, formally of Preston, GA, passed away Thursday morning, February 23, 2012, at the Lillian Carter Health and Rehab, in Plains, GA.
Mrs. Phelts was born November 20, 1916, in Schley County, GA. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Powell, Sr. and the late Willie Hart. She was the widow of Isaac Phelts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Isaac and four children; Emma Willard, Kathy Greene, Linda Jordan, Ray Phelts.
Mrs. Phelts is survived by two sons, Thomas (Barbara) Phelts of Poulan, GA and Gerald Phelts of Plains, GA; two daughters, Shirley Eisenhardt of Lake City, FL and Patricia (Donnie) Cline of Fitzgerald, GA; five grandchildren, Wendy Jones of Seale, AL, Billy Phelts of Parrott, GA, Becky Jordan of Georgetown, GA, Kathy Robertson of Eufaula, AL and George Green of Manchester, GA; 13 great grandchildren, John Raymond Ragan, III, Brittany Ragan, Kaitlan Baker, Summer Luck, Autumn Luck, Andrew Luck, Jacob Luck, Raymond Brown, Jashua Jones, Thomas Jones, Verconica Phelts, Issac Phelts, Andrew Green; three Step-grandchildren, Judy Boggess of San Antonio, TX, Sara Chickering of Alexandria, VA and Max Merritt of Brandy Wine, MD; and two brothers, Tye (Carolyn) Powell of Ellaville, GA, Arlis (Linda) Powell of Cobb, GA, and one sister, Juanita (Sam) Brown of Valdosta, GA.
Catherine was a member of the Preston United Methodist Church, Preston, GA. Her love was spending time raising children and chickens.
Visitation with family and friends was Thursday evening, February 23, 2012, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at Baldwin Funeral Home, Richland, GA.
Graveside Services were held at the Preston City Cemetery in Preston, GA, Friday, February 24, 2012, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Lee Smith and Rev. Raymond Smith officiating.
