Carolyn Thomas Layton, 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at home with her loving family beside her.

Carolyn was born in Cairo, GA, on January 12, 1939.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Johnny Thomas and Paulina Butler Thomas; one brother, Johnny B. Thomas; and one sister, Ondell Thomas Cosens.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Layton; one son, Jerry (Karen) Layton of Evergreen, AL; two daughters, Lori Layton (Brad) Stovall of Lumpkin, GA and Cyndi Layton of Tampa, FL; and one sister, Anna Jean Lodge Robinson Beshears.

Carolyn had eight grandchildren:  Bailee and Kinsey Stovall; Kara, Davis, Leanna, Sam Layton, and Ashton and Michael Raines.

Carolyn and Gerald have resided in the Lumpkin area for the last 54 years.

At the time of Carolyn's retirement in 2008 from Farmers State Bank, she was serving as the Vice President.  Carolyn was employed at Farmers State Bank for 37 years.

The Church Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Lumpkin First Baptist Church, at 11:00 AM, with interment will be in Northside Cemetery.
